[Minecraft story/blog] Nomadcraft

DAY 1
My days of mining were over. Same old caves, same old tools, same old life. It was time for me to get some adventure.


So i grabbed some wood from a nearby tree to construct a workbench.


With that i built a boat. Now i have two options here. Desert...


Or mountains...


Mountains it is!

I hardly started walking when i found this...


A lava spring! On the surface! This is super rare, and I've hardly gone anywhere yet! Feeling extremely more confident on what im doing, i continued towards the mountains.
Night was bound to come soon. I needed coal to make torches...



I climbed to the top of the mountain to try and find some. No luck.




As i continued my search for coal, i found this crazy monument...



I was quickly running out of time for my race to find coal.


When...


I quickly gathered it and looked for a place to spend the night.
I ran out of time so i just burrowed into a mountain.


I got little sleep, but the important thing is i survived the first night.
I decided to dig out the dirt once in a while to check if the sun was up. I would have left it open but i was worried about spiders dropping in.
It's ok. I'll live.
Right?

This is cool. Are you going to continue this?

This made me consider buying Minecraft.

DAY 2


I couldn't stand waiting there in my little hole, so i decided to dig further back and open up the dirt hole so if a spider DOES come in, i have room to move and attack.


I must say, that cow gave me quite a fright.
While i was stuck here, i pulled out my workbench and crafted a few things.


What was weird though, is i couldn't see a single monster roaming around.


I could hear something else outside, but i could only hear its footsteps. That was a creeper, and that was not good news. Unlike zombies and skeletons, creepers dont catch fire when the sun comes up.
They would wander off by midday though, but that still wasn't good because i wasn't too keen spending half my day in a hole.
Soon enough dawn came.

I moved out carefully, looking for signs of creepers.


I was climbing up a small hill when i heard the groan of a zombie. It scared me out of my wits. But he wasn't the only problem.


I barely escaped...


Eager to find iron, i set off. On my way i collected sand to melt into glass.
I was just approaching ocean when i found these


I collected them for jack-o-lanterns then set off.



It wasn't long before a found a good looking mountain.


I hit land and scanned it for iron.


Despite how impressive it was, i found no iron. I continued on. But then i realized the sun was low. But still high enough to dig a decent trench. And while i was digging...


I mined it then set up my workbench and build a furnace to smelt it.
While setting up camp, i got a visitor




So i ate some meat and smelted some iron, but i still needed more. Its shaping up to be a big day tomorrow.

Good job! Also the pumpkins are awesome. You should use one of them as a helmet :p

Jack-o-lanterns are more useful though lol

Lol so i decided to start a new world, playing nomad style =O

(no i'm not going to give you pictures and stories :p)

I found 19 pieces of iron ore, i'm happy =D (and then i found clay in the beach not too far away =O). I now have a set of iron tools, awesome =D

First night was fine, but when i came out of my hiding place there was a spider above me and two creepers... =\ (i got away because they weren't that close by)

Yes but i'm still kind of noob at playing against monsters, most of the time i spent my time playing in my first world, and that area is littered with torches so there weren't many monsters spawning. Now i see LOTS of creepers, and it kind of freaks me out because i dont want to lose all my iron! =\

Day 2 was pretty cool. Stealthy creeper camouflaged in the trees...awesome.

Day 3

With my smelted iron, i spent the night making new tools.
The chicken left me a present as well!



It was again proving to be a monster-less night. Just how i like it.
I was now far away from home. And i was enjoying every minute of it. I felt like a true nomad.
I was keen to get of to an early start but i was still afraid of a creeper coming up and blowing me to bits.



I waited for the sun to rise truly, then packed everything up and set off.


I barely had enough time to step out when a zombie hiding in the shadows jumped out. (Sorry i have misplaced the picture.) And then



So i went to my boat and set off. I kept on crashing so it was slow moving.


Eventually i hit land.
I set off to the vast mountains in search of iron.


This impressive mountain, standing tall and alone, made me temporarily forget what i was doing. But then i set off to scan it for iron.

I found pork chops at the bottom. A pig must have fell. Poor thing.

I started searching for iron, but the sun was going down fast. I quickly set up camp.


Tomorrow i would climb the vast mountain range towering above my head to find iron.

Nice. This would be awesome multiplayer.
