It's Deoxys-Attack! He'll kick your team so hard so you'd better get ready for a beating!

Well, Deoxys-Attack is an UBER. Lucky we won't be seeing him in standard. He can send any team into submission.

- The best sweeper. Sure - crack up at 50 HP, 20 Def and Sp Def. But don't forget the other stats. Deoxys-A is the record holder for highest base Attack and Special Attack - If you train it all out in Attack and Special Attack, they can hit 504. Just don't forget about IVs, since you can't change them. Deoxys-A has a huge move pool, ridiculously high attacking stats and is way fast. Don't underestimate him or your team is good as gone - unless a counter comes in!

The typical Deoxys-Attack set is like this. Go ahead, use it.

Comments: The Life Orb Monster stomps into the battlefield. You should be scared. Thunder hits Kyogre with full accuracy if it comes in (Kyogre's ability), Ice Beam is for those Latias, Groudon and Lugia. Shadow Ball is your main attack to hurt enemies with, and Superpower is for things that resists it (hint: Steel types). Oooooh, scary!!!!! lol. Seriously, if he stomps in, he is scary.

Why the rating? Because it's a monster like Garchomp.

Deoxys-Attack counters:

Well, Deoxys-Attack, despite a monstrous sweeper, CAN actually be KOed.

Let's begin.

Giratina - the great wall. Yes, it is NOT one-hit KOed by Ice Beam, and can hit with Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball back for a One hit KO on Deoxys-Attack.

Lugia can easily switch into Superpower (note: very little damage due to it being one quarter effective), but must watch out for Thunder. Don't forget Lugia's base 154 Special Defense, however. If you cram all the EVs into Special Defense and HP, Lugia will take the hit - and since just about any attack will One hit KO Deoxys-Attack, well... except for anything from Luvdisc and the likes, ...you know. Lugia will One Hit KO it.

Registeel can come in after a kill (send in some that's about to die anyway, like something that's hanging on with a Focus Sash). A Life Orb Deoxys-Attack's Superpower will 2 hit KO Registeel. BUT! Registeel will not be One-hit KOed, meaning that it can use Earthquake to take away about 145% of Deoxys-A's HP. Basically, an ensured KO on Deoxys-Attack.

Speaking of Focus Sashes, A focus sash sweeper can come in after Deoxys-Attack has killed something, hold on with Focus Sash and give Deoxys-Attack a good pounding.

Latias just ignores Superpower, Grass Knot and Thunder. And if enough Special Defense and HP EVs are put in, Latias can survive 3 Shadow Balls. Yeah, it's true... (read: all this is only works with the wonderful mountain soul dew that does incredible things with Latias and Latios). Latias then pounds Deoxys-Attack.

Slap a Focus Sash on Deoxys-Speed. Switch it in. Deoxys-Attack will hit Deoxys-Speed hard. It can survive some attacks, but Shadow Ball and Thunder would One Hit KO. That's where Focus Sash steps in. Deoxys-Attack is now One-hit KOed no matter what (READ: Deoxys-Attack can switch out. Just keep reading to find out why Deoxys-Speed will still One-hit KO it). Deoxys-Speed, jumping about excited, uses Pursuit on Deoxys-Attack. Deoxys-Speed is very happy for the One-hit KO that will like always happen.

Dugtrio and Arena Trap friend Trapinch. Dugtrio punches Deoxys-Attack in the balls for an easy One hit KO with Sucker Punch. Trapinch can also slam Deoxys-Attack in the balls with Quick Attack. Deoxys-Attack cannot switch out due to Arena Trap. Deoxys-Attack is gone. Remember, these two can only come in after Deoxys-Attack has killed something. And if Deoxys-Attack uses ExtremeSpeed, say goodbye to your Arena Trap pkmn. Unless there is a Focus Sash on them, in which case, Deoxys-Attack is KOed.

Lastly, Metagross, a Pursuit loving pkmn can switch in pretty easily to Ice beam (lol steel type, lol loads of resists), and use Pursuit to knock Deoxys-Attack dead. If Deoxys-Attack holds a Focus Sash and holds on, Metagross can go for Pursuit again, or Bullet Punch if it is worried about Thunder or Shadow Ball.

deoxys attack does a good job at sweeping but falls down on the fact that it is 1 hit KO'd

One-hit KOed? not by Luvdisc. Still, Deoxys-attack hits hard before getting hit which is good.

ofcourse it isn't 1 hit K-O'd by luvdisk (lol)

but anyway if you have a pokemon that
can survive deoxys attack then deoxys
attack then it's a 1 hit K-O since deoxys
attack base HP is 20
