starting pokemon-best choice

for me my favourite-best coice(personally)is

Mudkip because when evolved
has:
good defence
good attack
and can take down some strong enemies

Mudkip: Upon evolution to Swampert, it gains the highest stat total of ALL starters. Also the only one of the three starters the became Overused and stayed Overused in the transition to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum (I shall call this DPPt)
Torchic: As Blaziken it was very good in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (I shall call this RSE), but became inferior to Infernape in DPPt due to the much lower Speed.
Treecko: As Sceptile it is the fastest of ALL starters. This was a great distinction in RSE. But it later faded away into Borderline into DPPt. Likely due to the amount of Choice Scarf holders which get the Speed stat raised so they can kill Sceptile way fast.

I hope this wasn't tl;dr (too long; don't read it means)
