??? Type Arceus?

I was reading about Arceus on Serebii.net (awesome website) and it said hidden inside Diamond and Pearl's coding there was an ??? Type Arceus.


what Serebii.net said: In the games coding there is another Type for Arceus for the type that no pokemon belongs too and only one attack has. The ??? Type, which belongs to Curse. It is unknown and unlikekly that this Arceus form will ever see the light off day.

Wow, I thought everyone knew that...

Well, everyone who has heard of Arceus in the first place. ???-type Arceus gets no same-type attack bonus due to the only move of ???-type is Curse (lol swearing), and that does not damage the opponent directly (stat raiser for non-ghosts/indirect damage for ghosts). Because of this, ???-type Arceus is pretty much inferior to all the other type Arceus. ???-type Arceus was designed to prevent the inevitable data tampering of game hackers, because Arceus was coded to be of every type (multi-type ability). There was a sprite for all Arceus types, except ???-type. To prevent the game from crashing when game hackers play with the data, they created a sprite.

Actually, there might be a better reason to get it. The new Battle Frontier coming to Platinum. And the way you can get Articuno,Zapdos,Moltres as roaming pokemon (5 pokemon running like mad across Sinnoh is a bit crazy!) along with Mesprit and Cresselia.

Besides, all the events are going to Platinum anyway. Also a good reason. But I might just wait for Australian release. What I'm really looking forward to is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3: Explorers of the SKY. I've seen screenshots. Shaymin and Arceus are there. Shaymin and Giratina get their new forms. I think Rotom also gets its new forms. And you get to see what happens to Grovyle and Dusknoir! (shall I spoil more? I should have used the spoiler tag)
